Bio Park

Would you like to hand feed hippos? Be hugged by a kangaroo? Have monkeys ride around on your shoulder? Come to Bio Park!

Bio Park is the best zoo we've ever been to. It's built in to the side of a mountain and it's beautiful.  The habitats for the animals are great and you get to go in to many of the areas and interact with the animals. Here's a look at our fun day, and we got season passes so we're excited to go back!

Leo chasing a butterfly in the flower garden.

Nathan got a little homesick at this next stop.

Feeding the small animals at the 'pet shop.'

Enjoying the beautiful views!

Petting the capybaras. They were super friendly.

What a great day! We'll be back, Bio Park!

  1. This looks awesome! Did all of those things really happen to you- hugged by kangaroos, feeding hippos, etc.? If so, that's amazing!!! Either way, it looks like a wonderful zoo-- good call on the annual passes.

  2. Hey Alison! Well, we missed the hippo feeding by 30 minutes, so we're going to plan our next trip to make that. The monkey walk, where you feed and play with them, was a detour and we took the wrong turn. Someone told me that was the highlight - the monkeys can get pretty naughty and steal your sunglasses to play with and stuff like that. And a kangaroo hugged a kid next to us who was feeding him when we were in their petting zone. I got a great video of it, but couldn't figure out how to upload it to the blog.... so, yes and no? But we figure with our season passes we should be able to hit them all in a year :)

We're missing you guys and everybody in DC - I think we got spoiled being around so many friends and family! Nathan thought he might have a conference there next month, but it got canceled, bummer!

  3. That is completely amazing-- any or all of those encounters at a zoo would be so neat! I am glad that you get to go any time you want. It's kind of like the zoo in DC! We miss you all very much. It was so wonderful to have you close while you were here and I am so glad for the time together. Who knows, maybe you'll end up back in DC at some point, or us back in Oregon or everyone somewhere else, but in the same place again... I hope so! Kiss those beautiful babies of yours!
