After a few weeks of mostly overcast and often down pouring rain, we were excited for the 80 degree, sunny and not terribly humid weather that this weekend promised. We were not let down - the weather this weekend has been amazing! We spent the day at Shirahama Beach, which is about 30 minutes from our house. The water was warm and we had tons of fun picnicking and playing in the sand. Shirahama is part of the large Saikai / 99 Islands National Park that runs north and south of Sasebo on the coast. You can see some of the islands in this picture - really beautiful!
We are so happy to have such a lovely beach so close to our house and definitely plan on going back many more times this summer.
