February trip

February was our big trip back to the U.S. to see family. We've been in Japan almost a year and decided it was time to come back to the States and get in a little family time that we've been missing so much. Nathan took the whole (!) month of February off. Our family members were awesome and flew in to see us so we didn't have to spend the whole trip on airplanes trying to get around to see everyone.

First big stop was a Corley reunion in Las Vegas.

Next, the Hydes family all got together in Oregon.

And, due to our military flight coming and going from S. Korea,
we got an unintended mini-vacation in Seoul that was pretty cool.

Our itinerary was a bit nuts, and we even added on a few side trips that we hadn't planned on - spontaneous road trip to Palm Springs with my folks? Sure! All in all, we spent the month on 8 different flights, driving 2,400 miles, sleeping in 12 different places and of course living out of our suitcases. It wasn't easy, but the trip went off without a hitch and we had so much fun seeing our family.

Wish we had more time to see all our friends as well!!
You all will just have to come see us :)

More to come on each leg of the trip...

  1. Holy Cow! 8 flights 12 different places for bedtimes!?!?!? You seriously know how to power vacation! And, I can hardly believe that a year has already passed. My, how quickly time flies!

  2. Yes, we really ran the boys around - they were super travelers though!

We were just getting pictures together from last year and talking about how neat it was to live near such good friends and family in DC. We miss our trivia nights and get together s with you and Shawn!

  3. I agree, we miss you, too! It was so wonderful being close and getting that time together. I am always hopeful that our eventual landing places will be close enough for us to see each other just as often! :)
